Move over, UVLE 3.0 developers*. Nuvvo seems like a fun new way to provide online classrooms to everyone. By fun I mean fully featured—from the barebone requirements to the cool stuff like Skype messaging, FeedBurner feeds, Rich Text editors, and iCalendar formats. Will it disappoint? Or is it just too cute to take seriously?
Nuvvo runs on Savvica’s Learning Management System (LMS), and it became free only fairly recently. People can go to market and sign up with no charges; if a teacher wishes to charge, he/she will have to turn over 8% to the company as commerce fee.
If you want something you can have more control over, i.e., Open Source, Moodle might be your preference. Just remember to distinguish their names.
